It may not have worked out too well for her this year, but La Williams has had her moments in Paris (and in, oh, so many ways). She first won here in 2002, the days when she sported a blonde (ish) hair-do and had to beat her sister to claim the important trophies. Twelve years on and she is still winning titles, still terrifying the opposition and still the same old Serena. She may have spent the past few days on a Miami beach, kicking back and having a girls’ long weekend off with Caroline Wozniacki (check out the pix on Twitter @serenawilliams and @carowozniacki) but do not expect her to be anything but ready to win when she gets to Wimbledon.
